Tobogganing fun in Altenmarkt
Childhood dreams will come true when you race down into the valley on a wooden sled on a fun toboggan ride.
The natural toboggan run on the Hochbifang starts at an elevation of 1,300 m. It leads through the forest, has slight curves, is always well maintained, and is even floodlit in the evening. The toboggan run on the Schwemmberg is 3.5 km long. If you don't have a toboggan, you can rent one. And then you may ask: how can I warm up afterwards? Of course, in one of the cozy huts: Bifei´s Hütt´n (4 km toboggan run) or Hochnössler-Alm (4 km toboggan run).
Sonnalm toboggan run
The 3.1 km long Sonnalm toboggan run in Zauchensee starts at the Sonnalm ski hut (elev. 1,740 m, opened in 2010) and ends at the parking lot in Zauchensee (vertical meters 410 m). Difficulty level: intermediate. Especially popular is a romantic ride after sunset with a headlamp.
Floodlit toboggan run on the Hochbifang
This toboggan run, floodlit until 12:00 am from the Hochnössler-Alm (elev. 1,300 m) and Bifei´s Hütt´n, leads over 3.2 km to the Hochbifang valley station (vertical meters 400 m). Difficulty level: easy to intermediate. Toboggans and zipfelbobs are available for rental at the Hochnössler-Alm and Bifei´s Hütt´n.
Floodlit toboggan & zipflbob run at the Winterbauer farm
This toboggan run, floodlit until 12:00 am from Berggasthof Winterbauer (elev. 1,050 m), leads over 2.2 km to the Urbisweg path in Altenmarkt (vertical meters 230 m). Difficulty level: intermediate. You can also ride a zipfelbob, a mini bobsled made of plastic, on this run. Toboggans and zipfelbobs are available for rental at the Winterbauer farm.
